What you will learn
This guide covers the complete onboarding journey for a new Cortex Voice user. By the end, you will know how to:
- Activate your account and access the platform
- Configure your company information
- Create and customize your first NPS survey
- Choose a distribution channel and send the survey
- Read and interpret your first results in the dashboard
You need an active Cortex Voice account (included with your $199/month subscription) and a confirmed email address. If you don't have an account yet, visit comulead.com/contact-one to get started.
Step 1 — Activate your Cortex Voice account
After signing up, you will receive an activation email from noreply@comulead.com. Here is how to complete the activation:
Check your inbox for a message with the subject line "Activate your Cortex Voice account". Also check your spam or junk folder if you don't see it within 5 minutes of signing up.
Click the "Activate my account" button in the email. You will be redirected to the password creation page at comulead.isdevexperts.com.
Choose a password of at least 10 characters including one uppercase letter, one number, and one special character. Confirm it and click "Create account".
The activation link expires after 48 hours. If you haven't activated your account within that time, go to the login page and click "Resend activation email".
Step 2 — Configure your company profile
Once logged in for the first time, Cortex Voice guides you through the initial profile setup. This step takes about 3 minutes and improves the relevance of AI-generated insights.
Enter your company name, industry, and approximate team size. This information allows Cortex AI to calibrate the sector benchmarks displayed in your reports.
Upload your logo (accepted formats: PNG, SVG, JPG — maximum 2 MB). It will appear in the header of your email surveys, reinforcing brand recognition with your customers.
Configure the sender name and address that will appear on your surveys. Use a professional address such as nps@yourcompany.com to maximize open rates.
Select the industry that most closely matches your primary business activity. Cortex AI uses this information to compare your NPS against industry benchmarks. You can update this setting at any time under Settings › Company Profile.
Step 3 — Create your first NPS survey
Cortex Voice offers a guided creation wizard. Your first survey can be ready in under 5 minutes.
In the platform's side menu, click Surveys then click the "New survey" button in the top right.
Select the Standard NPS template. It includes the 10-point rating question and an open-ended follow-up question automatically generated based on the score (promoter, passive, or detractor).
Adapt the survey introduction to match your brand voice. You can edit:
- The introduction text (max. 280 characters)
- The wording of the main question
- Follow-up questions by segment (promoter / passive / detractor)
- The post-response thank-you message
The recommended wording is: "On a scale of 0 to 10, how likely are you to recommend [company name] to a colleague or friend?" This wording has been validated across thousands of studies and maximizes comparative response rates.
Step 4 — Send your survey
Cortex Voice supports three distribution channels. For a first send, we recommend the email channel — it delivers the best response rate and the richest data for analysis.
Select from the available options:
- Email — import a contact list (.csv) or enter addresses manually
- Direct link — copy the URL and share it in your CRM, email signature, or social media
- QR Code — download the QR code for physical locations (counter, invoices, etc.)
You can send the survey immediately or schedule it for a specific date and time. For email sends, Cortex Voice automatically recommends optimal time slots based on your industry (typically Tuesday or Wednesday, between 10 am and 2 pm).
Avoid sending an NPS survey to the same contact more than once every 90 days. Too-frequent sends fatigue respondents and reduce data quality. Cortex Voice automatically enforces this suppression rule if you enable contact management in settings.
Step 5 — Review your first results
As soon as the first responses come in, your Cortex Voice dashboard updates in real time. Here is how to read your initial results.
Click Dashboard in the side menu. The main view shows your current NPS score, response rate, and the promoter / passive / detractor breakdown.
NPS = % Promoters (9–10) − % Detractors (0–6). The score ranges from −100 to +100. A score above 0 is positive; above 30, it is considered good for a B2B SMB. Cortex AI automatically displays the industry benchmark that corresponds to your activity.
Click the Verbatims tab to read text responses. Cortex AI automatically groups comments by theme (product quality, customer service, pricing, delivery times, etc.) and indicates the sentiment (positive, negative, neutral) for each group.
Wait for at least 20 to 30 responses before drawing conclusions from your NPS score. Below that threshold, a single detractor can skew your score in a non-representative way. Cortex Voice displays a statistical reliability indicator directly in the dashboard.
Next steps
Now that your first survey is live, here are three recommended resources to go further:
- Create advanced surveys — advanced customization, conditional questions, multiple templates
- Analyze and interpret your results — filters, cohorts, data export, automated reports
- Configure your account in detail — users, notifications, integrations, billing
